I guess you didn't add Dovzhenko's "Earth" and Murnau's "Tabù" to the list just because they are off the silent era, having been released in 1930 and 1931... am I right?
I noticed Futagawa's "Orochi" on your list (of films not on the site), and have to agree wholeheartedly. I saw this last night with a genuine score and benshi narration and it was quite an incredible experience. A gorgeous film and a beautiful mix of comedy, action, social commentary, and tragedy (and the mix of those gorgeous tracking shots... it was almost like a Kurosawa almost thirty years before "Seven Samurai"). Your list overall is superb, by the way, but I wanted to comment on that singular film.
one of my favorites, though not in the database is WHEN A MAN LOVES ('27) - Alan Crosland - with John Barrymore, Delores Costello and Warner Oland... well worth the viewing, i feel.
The range of your viewing is, as always, impressive. I'm curious about the 18 you haven't.
The clip from Sunrise is beautiful, but my favorite scene is when they dance together in the restaurant. I love how she entices him.
So many great silent films still missing on The Auteurs. I guess they´re going to be busy over next couple of months.
