My favorite “road films.” Although I use that genre term loosely, I believe these films all embody at least a number of the characteristics I refer to as “the road.” I tried not to pick films that are tied strongly to another genre even if they share many road characteristics (I think that many of my favorite westerns and war films could also be considered road films). Let me know if there are any suggestions, as this is a list that I intend to add to as I see more road films.
Also, this is not a ranking of the quality of the films, or even which are my favorites in general. Rather, this is a ranking of the films that I believe are the best in the context of the “road film.”
