Thompson & Bordwell's Film History

By: Brad S.

In addition to being a film addict, I’ve also become a bit of a books about film addict. A number of these are historical overviews, but none are as wide-reaching and comprehensive as “Film History: An Introduction” by Kristin Thompson and David Bordwell.

The huge number of films referenced are not an indication that they are the author’s favorites, but it rather carefully chosen examples to represent various pieces of the puzzle that is the history of film.

Keep em coming, a worthwhile project...They really are excellent writers/instructors. David Cook's History of Narrative Film is another essential books that covers a range.
