Superb collection. Can anyone indicate who did the one for "Into The Wild"?! ....google as i might, nada so far.
Very good choices... I have the One Two Three Poster in my hallway...it's a favorite.
Some really good ones. Ever see this Rosemary's Baby one? http://www.moviegoods.com/Assets/product_images/1010/463191.1010.A.jpg
This is an *excellent* list and topic. I would include to this the "A Clockwork Orange" Britain re-release poster from 1999.
these are great. THX 1138 is my favorite. i have a list of 80s posters on my profile you might enjoy
Recognizable as Saul Bass? I can't think of anybody working today who is. As far as recognition goes, the poster design for some of Apatow's films show a trend (see below). Personally I find the 'character in front of a gradient' approach to be lazy, in a lowest common denominator kind of way. What do you think?
Is there a poster artist today that is as instantly recognizable as Saul Bass? His posters for the Otto Preminger films ( many of which aren't that memorable) are all arresting and provacative. Which I think leads to the question is there a filmaker today who uses only one poster artist or have the marketing people at various studios and companies usurped that relationship? Great list by the way.
I like the Polish poster for Rosemary's Baby and Zelig too. <img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2590/4170141740_bb66fa02e9_m.jpg"> <img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2491/4169380663_0987444453_m.jpg">
Hi, Matt! What a great collection of posters! I'll have to share it on my Facebook. This would be a wonderful inspiration for my graphics crowd.
