There's the connection of german expression in The Night of Then Hunter but I don't think of it as a "film noir" film,especially if u title ur list"Tough Guys & Hard Dames" otherwise I like ur list yo ;)

    Robert Mitchum is still pretty tough, and there is still a strong edge to the film, though I agree that it is one of the more far out additions and that the film almost defies genre. thanks for liking the list!

Hey check out the Big Heat. Fritz Lang does an almost revisionist job with the whole genre. And Lee Marvin is a damn badass. And I'm assuming you thought Detour wasn't a worthy addition? LOL

nice list, I've done a similar thing here: http://www.theauteurs.com/lists/2937 although now I've cast my eye over your list, I seem to have forgotten a couple, especially Raw Deal and, even more so, Nightmare Alley.
