WHAT A LOAD OF RUBBISH

Isn’t it astonishing, in this technologically advanced age, decades after the moon landing, that so many can waste so much, while others still scrape a living off the scraps? It’s one thing for artists to create from scrap, quite another that for many, scouring refuse is a matter of survival. As a cinematic setting maybe not sexy, but rubbish is a political issue. I’ve included Once upon a Time in America for one memorable scene involving trash.

"What a pity... The film might be one of the mightiest means of spreading knowledge and great ideas and yet it serves only to litter people's brains." - Tolstoy
