Lancelot du Lac (Robert Bresson, 1974)
Artificial Eye DVD

Subtleties in 2 films by Robert Bresson, with moments of darkness, movement, and soft-focus. Images acquired to test the qualities and durability of 2 new Artificial Eye DVDs. Both DVDs (especially A Man Escaped) are highly superior to the domestic versions, with subtleties coming through very clearly. A Man Escaped in particular was quite pleasurable to watch.

You’ve quite an eye! They remind me of his thoughts on sound: http://filmsound.org/articles/bresson.htm

I will have to keep an eye on this Artificial Eye business.

In those few, in-motion shots from Lancelot, I think you captured that entire film’s color palette…

thank you very kindly for the comments, such a great filmmaker, it is always a pleasure to watch his work or go through analytically to look for frames.
