It’s interesting where these films relate to one another not just in their smoothly lit surfaces, but also their vast range of thematic entry points. Cause I’m still not sure what either of these pictures are about (in the precise sense of the word), yet both provide us with so many symbols and surfaces to play with that the very idea of the word ‘unfinished’ might just become trivial. And now I’m also seriously considering this double-bill!
