    Welcome back, Mr. De Palma.

Sexy. Though he could have went for a better, more vampy blonde.

    It’s all about friendship.

I agree with Bobby Wise, don’t think that McAdams fits in the role very well.

He should have cast the actress Hitchcock would be going gaga over if he were alive: Amber Heard.

Oh, and by the way, if Tony Scott is a “master,” then what the shit is De Palma? Novice filmmakers should be studying every single frame of Blow Out, not to mention the incredible, almost peerless sound design.

  • Bobby Wise

Amber Heard is a knock-out. But she looks like she’s 18. I was thinking someone like Scarlett Johanssen, who can do smoky and sultry without even really trying.

Nah Bobby, he’s had her already (in The Black Dahlia), she’s old news now. Jessica Chastain would be a better substitute for McAdams.

    Hot

Except for the fact that Jessica Chastain is ugly. She’s a “femme fatale” for all the wrong reasons.

Anyone else notice the strange doubling effect on the seems of the split-diapter-like shots?

Hitch’s girl today would be January Jones.

  • deftworker

Chastain has range that Johanssen doesn’t, Jones is too cold, Doesn’t have Tippi Hedren’s sympathetic and emotional punch.

I think Nicole Kidman in her prime would be the closest thing to a modern Hitchcock blonde. But Kim Basinger would have been nice for a modern equivalent to Vertigo. And Sharon Stone could have gotten the Janet Leigh role in the new Psycho.

Yes, Kim Basinger in her prime would definitely work.
