This seemed like it should have been my kind of movie, but I found it too aimless (not to mention too long). Certain scenes on their own were clever or sweet or funny, but the lack of a cohesive voice, style or theme hurt it in the end. It’s nice, though, but more so in its down-to-earth moments (like the lovely flipbook scene) rather than the surreal, dreamlike ones.. Directed by the guy who did the anime sequence in Kill Bill, with small roles for the biker chick from Kamikaze Girls and Tadanobu Asano from just about everything.
