Just viewed this again last night and it is slowly becoming my favourite Argento, currently running neck and neck with Suspiria. But while Suspiria is an all out attack on the senses (and a fun one at that), there is just so much more to bite into with Profondo Rosso. I’ve seen it 3 times to date and am only now beginning to appreciate its brilliance. In addition, David Hemmings and Daria Nicolodi work off of each other rather nicely. My admiration for Deep Red (and man is there a lot of gorgeous deep reds to look at throughout the film) can only grow from here on out. Also, the masterful Goblin score (the first of many collaborations with Argento) is definitely one of my favourite OST’s.
