I wanted to like this film but just didn’t. It’s very well made and Hoffman gives a great performance but there’s something about it…something possibly about the tone of the film or….I can’t quite put my finger on it. Plus I found Voight’s character to be so darn unlikable. That’s not normally a problem for me but for some reason the fact that I disliked his character so much ruined part of this for me. I just couldn’t see much to like about the film at all. Strange, I’m not even sure how to explain myself. It just didn’t do anything for me. (Sorry Salem)
