A wonderfully conceived brain teaser of a horror film with a genuinely startling conclusion that makes you hungry for more. Unfortunately, the sequel, though equally as terrifying, doesn’t adequately sate the audience’s desire to learn more about the enigmatic ‘Cube’ and its creators. Considering this movie is essentially six people trapped in a very unimaginative Big Brother house filled with gratuitously sadistic traps, the mystery of both the characters’ backgrounds and how they came to be inside the Cube makes for highly intriguing and enjoyable viewing.
