One of Tarkovsky’s finest films. The film tackles difficult philosophical questions and the human condition through incredible directing and very believable character development. The movie takes place on a Swedish island where a family struggles to understand their current situation, a war, family relationships and the unknown. This film ties seamlessly music, art, people and an environment that is real yet somehow surreal; the viewer is transported to this created world where it is controlled by the unknown. A masterpiece, highly recommended.
