he has done it all, alright.

from chopping a foot with a piano string to catching a punch with a mouth, from an earth shattering ending to sucking a woman’s nipple until milk burst out. takashi miike has almost done it all. well, until now.

sukiyaki western django is the latest installment from takashi miike’s crazy brain and also a guarantee that he has completely done it all. this film is both an homage and a parody of spaghetti westerns and traditional samurai films. yes, it’s that crazy. oh, and all the japanese here talked in engrish.

it’s a surprise that takashi miike could make this crazy and hard theme works. he did it with his own style, too. there is no question for his ideas and directing skills. this man is a genius if it comes to those things. but after his success at making this film, he is surely a certified genius.

for the writing part, there is nothing wrong with how the plot works out. but the dialogs? well, it was filled with many wise dialogs. the cheesy ones. those kind of dialogs can really affect someone’s thoughts about the film. it decreased the enjoyment that i got from this film.

but man, takashi miike is one hell of an eccentric genius. he made this film works. his bravery at making this kind of film itself deserves an award. oh, and the famous quentin tarantino even acted in this film. that’s how big and respected takashi miike really is.
