Very well composed narrative in the good style of the new Brazilian realist films. A melting pot of elements from Carandiru and Ratatouille with a pinch of culinary remarks from Jamie Oliver crossed with the storytelling of Cidade de Deus. Not as fast paced as “The fabuleux destin d’ Amelie Poulain” but still a little bit of Jeunet’s Delicatessen specially towards the end.

A good movie to watch for those who those who loved “Cidade de Deus” and “Carandiru” and are also “foodies”. Too bad MUBI still doesn’t have the movie subtitled, that is for the non-portuguese speaking folks.
