This movie looks and sounds so fantastic that I can’t wait to see it. It is by Fernando Eimbcke, who directed Sundance Smash Hit ‘Duck Season,’ which was produced by the acclaimed Alfonso Cuarón ( ‘Children of Men’, ‘Y tu mamá también’ and ‘Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban’ ). Just like ‘Duck Season,’ ‘Lake Tahoe’ explores that wild and intriguing territory called adolescence that is never easy to survive, let alone pass-through. Director Eimbcke has a genuine talent to demystify the psyche of his characters, without ever manipulating or simplifying them, and he is especially great at working with young actors.And, the buzz in Berlin Film Festival 2008 says that Diego Cataño as the pensive and the troubled Juan created wonders that won’t be forgotten for a long time…
