At first, I thought it was going to be about freedom… but it turned out to be about freedom of choice. Yet, the life of one woman who has chosen to end her life is saved against her will by a total stranger, who had just committed murder in order to win his own freedom. The new millennium begins with fireworks and a baptism in the ocean… but the killer-turned-savior is shot to death. Nothing had fundamentally changed— and the future seems just as precarious.
