Shadi was a great person who loved his country more than any thing else. The best thing to write about shadi, is what he said himself:
“From the very beginning I have had a cause. My cause is our lost or missing history, the people you see in the streets, in the fields, factories or even at home ……, they all contributed once to forming, to creating life. Those people have enriched human civilization. How can we revive their creative role? How can we restore their positive and constructive participation in life and human endeavor?
First, they have to know where they came from, and what contribution they made. We must form a link between the past and present Egyptian, in order to attain the Egyptian of tomorrow. This is my cause.”
I was lucky to get to know Shadi closely, and very happy that his great film was restored. Now we have a cultured society called Friends of Shadi Abdel Salam Museum at the Alexandria Liberary, and our main aim is to revive his cause and work on making his and our dream to come true.
May his sole rest in peace.
