This was a good movie. The acting, story and direction were all up to my standards of being a GOOD MOVIE. I’m not saying that it was awesome though. Christian Bale’s acting was a little awkward and weird, although I have no idea why it was that way. Maybe it came from studying Dieter Dengler or something like that, but the rest of the cast did an awesome job. I was surprised how the ending became quite a tear-jerker, and liked the idea that Christian Bale’s character didn’t have a thought-provoking and enlightening thing to say, beyond the few words that he did. This is only the second Herzog film I saw, and the reoccuring theme of overcoming the environment that the character is placed in is displayed here beautifully. Awesome.
