Yes…. it seems we are getting it together…. one more goal and we’re safe…

(fingers crossed)

A goal by Honduras would come in handy. It’s a lot ot expect 10 men to come back against such a good team from 2-0 down

Agustina

To answer Nohea, the extra time is at the referee’s discretion…

Kenji

Ideally i’d like Honduras to win and Chile to equalise, then Portugal wouldn’t have to play Spain next and Spain would still qualify. I’m surprised Spain haven’t scored a couple this half, but Chile regrouped very well

Thank you Kilakila.

Kenji, hand over that calculator and slide rule!

Of course there’s rivalry between Portugal and Spain, and Portugal feel overshadowed and overdue a tournament win. I love Galicia and the North of Spain but i love Portugal more! I would have preferred them to meet in the final and Portugal win

Agustina

I’m with Portugal, sadly, since I work office hours, I can only watch Chile…

Dear Kenji and Nohea: it has been a pleasure watching Chile vs. Spain with you. Thank you both!

Nohea you are a sweetheart! =)

If we pass, I’ll be back here for the next match…. muahahahaha….

HA! Well done Chile. Next, to put out Brazil. Simple. I’m glad the Swiss didn’t make it, they are so defensive and boring. For Portugal it’s crunch time, the big one. If only i could be in Portugal in time- facing Spain over the border!- but i may get to a Portuguese café i know to join in the excitement

:D Kilakila … I’m off to work in an hour… it’s 10:30am Friday morning here…

Spain won. They deserved it. The Swiss didn’t. Good for Chile… though Brazil is going to kick their asses hahaha

Jose Sarmiento Hinojosa

Or maybe not. This is an historical world cup for Chile. I hope they keep playing this way.

What are USA’s chances against Ghana tomorrow? I’ve heard people say they at least have a 50/50 shot with the way they’ve been playing. I didn’t catch Ghana play really, so i don’t know.

agreed. S. Korea had many chances to go up 2 – 1 (just missed a HUGE one) :/ shame I’d love to see them repeat their 2002 run

Uruguay got lucky with another goalkeeper mistake. South Korea deserved as much to get through as Uruguay.

Patapon

yes S Korea was the better team.

U.S. getting dominated.

Sean John

Sekzee – which is why this hurts all the more. S. Korea should’ve had 2 goals during that offensive rampage in the 2nd half (I’m looking at you, Lee Chung Yong). And of course that last slipup, well, I have no words.

The US come back again. They have excellent never say die spirit; like Nadal in tennis if you don’t put them away when you’re winning or on top you’re asking for trouble. Of course their level is nowhere near Nadal’s but they do have mental toughness that frustrates opponents

It’ll go to penalties – anyone’s then.

Let’s just hope the afternoon match tomorrow doesn’t end in a penalty shootout…

Soccer players are interesting specimens.

The slightest touch will send them tumbling to the floor, screaming in pain. But these terrible wounds they constantly receive regenerate fully in a matter of seconds!

These glass-boned super-healers should be used for medical research.
