Man, I have two really amazing picks that I’m trying to verify that access copies exist for. So far I’ve come across an English-subs-less dead torrent for one and nothing online except a trailer for another. Agony!

only one of my films had over 100 fans, and i submitted a pretty small list. I’m just overwhelmed right now. I’ll consider some other films i think would be great in this WC and send them your way, Riss.

I’m pretty excited too. I’ve been going over the lists that have been coming in. I’m checking all of the selections to make sure they fit the criteria and to make sure they are assigned the the correct countries and all that. For anyone who submitted a list, don’t feel bad if I write back and question you on anything. I’m not doubting you. I’m just making sure I’m clear for my own sake.

I’m finding some amazing looking films as I’m pouring over these. It’s too bad I can’t use all of them. I sure hope the system I’m setting up doesn’t leave out too many of the best ones.

is scotland a country? or are you only accepting GB/UK entries?

Scottland, England, and Wales will all be separate countries. Also Ireland. Not sure if there will be a difference between Ireland and North Ireland or if I should throw them together. I don’t want to get shot for suggesting that though.

Kenji would just be too sad if Wales wasn’t all on it’s own. ;)

I think I know the answer, but just to be sure, we are allowed to submit animated films right? I assume so, but I am making a list consisting entirely of animation, and want to be completely sure it’s not in vain.

Yes, please send me the all animation list! I strongly encourage people to submit lots of animation, shorts, documentaries, and experimental films as well.

Now where is Ozufan to send me a good Scotish film?

Emery is my friend from a previous defunct online film lovers community. I coaxed him into submitting a list to me. Hopefully he’ll be around for some of the discussions and voting as well.

If pseudo-nations like Wales and Scotland are allowed spots, then I request a spot for the formerly independent Republic of Texas.

i’m going to really struggle coming up with a cornish film.

Unlike Corn, the Republic of Texas has a rich and vibrant cinematic culture that trumps those of many other nations participating in the Cup. Plus, we speak our own language. Plus, a Cup without Eagle Pennell isn’t really a Cup.

but cornwall has straw dogs and the cornish chough. and cornwall definitely has its own language.
