BLASPHEMY!!!!

I think there’s some heresy in there, too. That movie ranks as one of the worst things a good director has ever done. A true abomination.

Still voting against Floating Clouds out of spite, ZVELF? Have you even seen it?

Hey Ruby, what’s the story with Holy Mountain? I’ve only seen half of El Topo and the first fifteen or so minutes of Holy Mountain, but I almost feel irked nonetheless by all this animosity toward Jodorowsky. What’s the deal here?

LOL i was gonna post right now about the extreme irony of your ‘actual weather report’

holy mountain is a fun spacey film that was made on hallucinogens i believe. that’s certainly what it looks like. it’s supposed to be a journey to the top of an actual mountain but jodo got bored at some point and filmed a false ending a la simon in the desert. i should prolly research before spouting off too much, i’m not an expert on the film but i have seen it and thought it was pretty silly. still i like it better than el topo. cool production design

nobody attack me please

On the basis of El Topo, I will never see The Holy Mountain.

DADA WEATHERMAN

Yeah, El Topo was a chore to get through for me, hence only finishing half of it. But I was watching it as a lead-in to Holy Mountain, which was fairly great as far as I had seen(just a portion of it, as mentioned).

I think DiB rendered it along the lines of randomness for strangeness’s sake if not silly as well.

I own it, so now that I’m done with school for the year I’m eager to get back to it(along with three thousand or so other films, of course) and prove…well, somebody wrong.

Josh: Still voting against Floating Clouds out of spite, ZVELF? Have you even seen it?

I already told you, Josh. I don’t do spite. I am merely a man of my word. You had complete control over whether I would vote against it or not and were unconcerned at the time, so why are you concerned now? And yes, I have seen it and I found it’d make a good cure for insomnia. Along with Ordet and A Woman Under the Influence, it’s probably the most overrated film remaining.

I love both El Topo and Holy Mountain although strangely I haven’t cared for anything else Jodorowsky’s done.

“Even more than the original”

“BLASPHEMY!!!!”

That’s not blasphemy. That’s pure unadulterated insanity.

El Topo is loopy fun. Holy Mountain annoyed me. But maybe it was because of the order that I saw them. As midnight movies go, they’re probably two of the best this side of The Room.
