When will the remake insanity end?

Now they’re remaking Jules Dassin’s classic Rifif starring Al Pacino (could be worse though)

Somebody stop them before it’s too late.

Why even bother remaking Rififi? Just about every heist movie with a safe cracking in it has used it as a blueprint. And none of them come close to touching the original.

No, this is actively in Pre-production set to be released in 2011 (if you have imdb Pro you could see)
