The Last Wave/Enigmatic Endings

I just caught Peter Weir’s The Last Wave. I had mixed feelings about it but the more I think about it the more I like it.

The film has got a quintessentially ambiguous ending. I’m usually skeptical of these mystery endings because they can come off as gimmicky or pretentious. But when they work, THEY WORK.

Anybody have some favorite unresolved or enigmatic endings?
