You’re in luck.
There is an excellent thread on this film already with many eloquent analyses. Take a look:
GARAGE DISCUSSION GROUP #1 (MAY 2009)—- SALÒ, OR THE 120 DAYS OF SODOM
Thanks. I never really look at the garage discussion and analysis threads.
A good rule of thumb is to check the film’s page and scroll down to the bottom to find related threads. That or the search box, which isn’t always accurate.
You just happened to bring up one film that’s been very well-discussed on this site. Also, do check out Garage—some of the most interesting things happening on this site are there.
I kind of given up on the search box. Most of the time that I spend on the site is done while I’m at work and on my iPhone. It doesn’t seem to work as well as it does on any other computer, but I’m hardly home to use the computer anyway.
No worries. I love sharing that thread, as it’s a shining example of the possibilities of this site’s community coming together to do something really worthwhile.

I work at a printing company that mainly binds books and right now I’m working on the book for the Salo blu-ray I think. My supervisor has been reading some of the essays and he knows that I’ve seen it and was wondering if I had it. Regretably I said yes knowing that he was going to ask to borrow it and I told him I would brin it in for him. I don like to deny anyone who has the desire to see any particular film, but this time I’m not too sure of the outcome. He’s a smart guy and all but I don’t think he’ll get the whole thing. I think he’ll see just the surface and not what it all means. I’ve thought of a few things to say to him upon giving it to him, I feel that it’s somewhat necessary to provide some kind of warning, but I’d like to see what someone else has to say about it.
