everytime i watch “home for the holidays” and ann bancroft has one her moments it just makes me so sad from the bittersweetness of her performance.
Definitely second that about Katrin Cartlidge – brilliant performer (even in the okay CAREER GIRLS she was superb and heartbreaking). Wish Cary Grant was still around too. And Paul Newman, of course (“Hell, I’ve got vision; the rest of the world wears bifocals.”)

What I mean is, an actor or actress you see in the movies that you wish was still around, even if they weren’t acting anymore, but just kinda miss because you enjoyed their performances so much. (I hope this isn’t too morbid a topic)
My first pick would be James Stewart. I shed a tear when they showed his face during the Oscar’s “In Memorium” the year he died, and it struck me too about Paul Newman being gone now. And even Gloria Grahame…her performance in The Big Heat just always seems to break my heart, or even her small turn in It’s a Wonderful Life – paraphrasing here, from Wonderful Life: “I just throw this dress on when I don’t care HOW I look!” Beautiful.
