I got to thinking about which film I watched most in the past year and the winner was Children of Men. It’s honestly the best & consequently the most underrated science fiction film of the 21st Century. It becomes much better in repeated viewings, and Lubezki’s cinematography is the best I have ever seen, it is truly remarkable.
Now, what do you think there is in store for ‘Gravity’?? Guillermo Del Toro quoted that ‘What Alfonso is doing is Kubrickian’. My god, nothing excites me more than that quote. Even the 6 year absence from the filmmaking world is Kubrickian on itself.
