I vote Dickinson and Wayne as the best Hawks couple—even better that Grant and Russell….and Grant and Arthur….and Grant and Hepburn….. Most of Hawk’s couples only connect with each other in childish/flirtatious modes of expression— rarely ever do they get as romantic as Feathers and Chance do. This may be the most intimate and adult couple he ever directed.
