I think Anne-Marie Miéville was a member of the Groupe Dziga Vertov. You can find their films on ubuweb.com where you also can find some of the episodes of France/tour/detour/deux/enfants.
imbd says that she used to be a singer before he met Godard and I guess that could be true. I read somewhere else that Miéville helped Godard after his motorcycle accident and that they became very close during that period.
The easiest way to watch her films would be to watch Godards film. I did track down a japanese release of Éloge de l’amour which included After the reconciliation, or if it was a release of After the reconciliation which Éloge de l’amour….
There is a collection of Miéville/Godard short films that you can buy from amazon.uk (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Jean-Luc-Godard-Short-Films-Hardback/dp/B000FL88EY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1240823635&sr=8-1)
Godard and Miéville made Soft and hard in 1986, you can find that film on youtube.
Thats about all I could dig up.
i didn’t think she was a member of the dziga vertov collective. i was under the impression that that was basically godard and gorin. and then came mieville as godard’s next collaboration (in life and art), after the gorin thing dissolved.
I just picked up a copy of Godard’s Hail Mary, found it for under $8. Eagerly await watching both the film and the Mieville’s accompanying short.
Anyone interested in Mieville’s writing should grab a copy of “Images en parole” from Amazon France: http://www.amazon.fr/Images-en-parole-Anne-Marie-Mi%C3%A9ville/dp/284490114X/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1240853151&sr=8-5
Although, this is the untranslated version so I’ll only recommend it to those fluent en français.
Miéville’s influence on Godard is, I believe, very great, and they should be viewed as collaborators on most of Godard’s late-era work. She has made a couple other films on her own, one or two of which I’ve seen on the trading circuit (if you don’t care about ultra-low video quality). I think I’ve only ever been able to see “Mon cher sujet”.
Of particular interest to Godard fans would be the two most recent films she’s made, since Godard stars in both – “Apres la reconciliation” and “Nous sommes tous encore ici”. I haven’t been able to see either of them. The soundtrack of “Nous sommes tous encore ici” was released on CD, or perhaps only extracts of it, they are essentially very long dialogues. A book was released containing dialogues from the film as well. I own both of these but it’s been forever since I’ve examined them.
Well, I’m not sure that she was a member of Groupe Dziga Vertov. But since she already knew Godard, and had made at least on film with him (Une film comme les autres) it is possible that she was could be considered a member.

What can someone tell me about her? I recently saw Book of Mary and thought it was great. Are there any obscure dvd releases of any of her work? Cause I came up with nothing. She’s so elusive, all I can really find is that she may or may not be Godards wife. Just curious if anyone could could shed some light on this filmmaker for me.
