Gogol Bordello is an experience live.
I’m wasn’t a big fan of Animal Collective, but I’m coming around.

It seems that Wu Tang’s 36 Chambers is, by our definition, the greatest “rap” album ever. At least so far…

Oh, and add Stanley Turentine’s Sugar to my list

Not canonical, but represents some stuff i’m diggin’ on now that has slipped the rest of y’alls filters:

The Roots — Rising Down (Best hip hop album of the decade if you ask me)
The Decemberists — The Hazards of Love (The first performance of the album in its conceptual entirety is available on npr)
Arcade Fire — Neon Bible
Frank Zappa — Läther (8-sided LP that the record company split into 4 albums, release posthumously, covering perhaps the widest musical gamut of any of Zappa’s albums, and that’s saying something)
The Crystal Method — Vegas (quintessential snowboarding music, best served with cliffs and ample powder)

Conor

Woah – this is hard to pick. I bet as soon as I post this I’ll think of like 10-20 other albums.

Dark Side of the Moon – Pink Floyd
Thirst For Romance – Cherry Ghost
The Crane Wife – The Decemberists
Narrow Stairs – Death Cab For Cutie
Plans – Death Cab For Cutie
In Rainbows – Radiohead
The Bends – Radiohead
The Sound of The Smiths – The Smiths (I know it’s a best of, but all of their stuff is brilliant!!!)…same with Morrissey’s Best Of
Way To Normal – Ben Folds
A Weekend in the City – Bloc Party
Highway 61 Revisited – Bob Dylan
The Alternative to Love – Brendan Benson
Hysteria – Def Leppard

Wow, that’s a really random selection…
