And yet another topic wanders from its intention…

Thank God for JP Belmondo! Always showing up as the Forum police to instruct and criticize on threads. I have to ask though…how exactly has this thread “wandered from its intention” when from where I’m seated, I see nothing but 4 posts explicitly answering the question at hand. Maybe it wasn’t posted where Belmondo wants it to be posted…or even worse than that…maybe this question lies in another thread. If only everyone here took the time to scour and search every forum entry prior to typing a word just to make sure that someone…somewhere…at some distant time….didn’t say this already. Gasp Couldn’t you just die!?

To answer you: I think the Herzog films are the best with Kinski. That’s all…I don’t have to mock or make any snide comments about the thread, I can just simply answer the question and move on. Thanks!

The Topic clearly asks particulary for recomendations on good Kinski films apart from the obvious Herzog films wich we all know are brilliant, but apparently no one read the “besides Herzog films” part of the post, i’m sure Johnny is still waiting for a reply to his quiestion, as i am.

I don’t have any recommendations, but I will point out that the responses don’t “answer the question at hand.” You should read more carefully before jumping down someone’s throat.

Oops!
I obviously read too rapidly and incompletely.

Hey I answered it!

Apparently i only read the question carefully and not the answers, I apologize for that Grey Daisies and thanks for the title you’ve provided.

Creature! It’s a kind of awful Alien rip-off, but Kinski is great in it.

the great silence looks good, but i’m hesitant on Creature!

Kinkski—Herzog

Thorsten

here in Germany he is cult not only because of Herzog and because of his daughter, but also because of a row of films hi did in the early sixties: some german Edgar Wallace crime thrillers, for example Das indische Halstuch (The Indian Scarf). He always plays some Psycho, but he does it very well. These movies are not exactly film art, but truely honest genre works.

The Herzog films aside…

Renfield in Jess Franco’s Dracula – a masterwork of pantomime
His cameo as fire-breathing comrade Kostoyed in Doctor Zhivago – an frightening, out-of-nowhere appearance in an otherwise glossy epic
The ringleader in Venom – shockingly NOT the Eurotrash one would have expected…and heartening to see Kinski share the screen with Oliver Reed, Susan George, etc.

The Great Silence…………pure kinski and God said to Cain

Lucas Granero

“Jesus Christ Saviuor”, the best Kinski ever.
The man is on fire, true.

Colin Houlson

Probably Kinski’s best role was playing himself. Herzog’s documentary My Best Fiend reveals that terrifying character in all its glory.
