Chabrol’s new one is due out in France later this month. Sounds intriguing, and as ever there’s a good cast involved. I’ve made a point over the last ten years or so of trying to see every Chabrol film on its initial theatrical run, and have rarely been disappointed; I genuinely have enjoyed films such as A Girl Cut in Two, A Comedy of Power and The Bridesmaid as much as some of the 60s/70s stuff with Audran, Bouquet etc. I thought The Flower of Evil was a magnificent film, with great performances from Baye and Magimel.
Anyone else into recent Chabrol? Or does it still have to be The Butcher or The Unfaithful Wife to really cut it?
