In addition to his role in more well known films, he’s quite memorable in Buffalo ’66.
Ben Gazzara in THE STRANGE ONE is a sight to behold.
That film cries out for a double feature with CRUISING, and not in a good way.
Cassavetes also died on February 3rd…1989. That’s 23 years to the day.
His bit with Rowlands was the best one of the Paris J’Taime deal.
Sad news. A great actor.

Very strange: I was planning to watch The Killing of a Chinese Bookie this weekend.
R.I.P. He was great, even in bit parts like Buffalo 66 and Big Lebowski.
But obviously his work was done in the 70’s and early 80’s.

Loved his work in The Strange One and The Killing of a Chinese Bookie.
He also did very fine work in Anatomy of a Murder, Husbands, Opening Night, Tales of Ordinary Madness, Buffalo ’66, The Big Lebowski, and many others.
Saint Jack has been in my saved netflix queue for over two years. Gotta find it somewhere else.
