I love all the ‘regulars’, “Kane”, “Lawrence” and company.
“The Duellists” whether that was all Frank Tidy’s work or a combination of him and Ridley Scott’s influence. That film is so beautiful-looking you can’t find words for it. Dutch Master lighting…..
I have to re-visit “Barry Lyndon” as it has been years, and I have always thought of it and “Duellists” as ‘bookends’ to each other.
I highly second Miyagawa for “Floating Weeds”; god bless older color film stocks.
For “The Searchers”, Winton C. Hoch achieved miracles in depth and texture with the VistaVision camera; one of the most beautiful Westerns.

For starters. I’m a sucker for widescreen, by the way. Good work is done in both widescreen and fullscreen, but boy do I enjoy panorama and landscapes.

“The Seventh Seal,” by Ingmar Bergman
Stranger Than Paradise and My Life To Live (Vivre sa Vie) both achieve incredible cinematography feats with unbelievable limitations. On the other end of the spectrum, some of my favorite cinematography is in Ashes of Time and Dogville.
