Kim Ki-Duk:
- Bad Guy
- Seom
- Samaria
Pabst’s Die Dreigroschenoper.
Not forgetting the great Louise Brooks in Pandora’s Box
@ Kenji – Surely not! She was no hooker! She was a lady of taste.
Ok, then how about Shanghai Express?

neil jordan’s mona lisa is a beautiful film
Everyone’s favorite Call Girl,

Best hooker films – Godard’s
Worst hooker film ever – Pretty Woman
Working Girls is an undervalued film by Lizzie Borden.
El Pez que Fuma (Román Chalbaud)
Claire Dolan (Lodge Kerrigan)
Night Shift (Ron Howard)
Risky Business (Paul Brickman)
Am I the only one who thinks there’s TOO many films about hookers?
I think it could/should be definitely considered a convention of “artsy” cinema.
The Center of the World, with Peter Sarsgaard and a very, very saucy Carla Gugino…
Shohei Imamura’s The Insect Woman.
All About My Mother has to be one of the best.
Berjuan,
I couldn’t agree more.
Black Hooker.
Emmanuelle
“Flims” about hookers…
Ocean’s 12
Cannonball Run II
Valentine’s Day
(you meant films where people are prostituting themselves, right?)
‘Films’
Well, I’m going to have to go with the one I just finished watching – Mizoguchi’s Street of Shame.
Runner up – Ken Russell’s Crimes of Passion

Brad,
Thanks for reminding me about Street of Shame. A bit melodramatic but not bad at all.
London to brighton isa great british movie about child prostitution, homelessness and the uk underworld. It was a smashwhen releasd in the uk, but probabydidn.t crossthe atlantic too well.
ABOUT hookers or with hookers in them? I certainly wouldn’t consider Elmer Gantry, Taxi Driver or some these other selections ABOUT hookers…
I would consider these…
Jeanne Dielman
Crimes of Passion
Mamma Rosa
Midnight Cowboy
Vivre Sa Vie
Breakfast at Tiffany’s
I’d vote for Klute followed by Working Girls.
Dunaewa
2 or 3 Things I Know About Her, Jean-Luc Godard.
Paprika, Tinto Brass.
