Best Kurosawa Criterion releases?

Akira Kurosawa is probably my all-time favourite director (so far, I’m still young and naive), I was wondering which Kurosawa Criterion releases take the cake in terms of special features and their cost (Seven Samurai looks amazing but for me to buy it locally it’s $110AUD which is somewhat ridiculous). I’ve never actually bought a Criterion dvd as I’m more of a bargain hunter when it comes to great films so I’m very inexperienced in their work, so the question is – what are your favourite Kurosawa releases on Criterion?

Seven Samurai is probably the best overall set, but I’ve also heard that the new High & Low is pretty good. I like the Yojimbo/Sanjuro slipcased edition that I bought off Amazon.com. Not sure if they offer a discount in Australia but it’s routinely available for $50 USD when the two films bought separately would run $80 USD.

Stray Dog and Roshamon. The three disc criterion has great special features on it though.

The SEVEN SAMURAI box set is a treasure and I would save up for it and treat yourself one birthday or holiday. It’s amazing. Other than that the newly released HIGH AND LOW is very nice.

Seven Samurai’s release is great, Ran is almost as great, Kagemusha too.

Seven Samurai is the best.

Ran and the Yojimbo/Sanjuro are worth the money as well.
