“Head” written by Jack Nicholson and starring the monkees is a worthwhile experience, though it’s more an interesting pop culture artifact than a actual like movie like.
Man Trouble is a great film.
I wrote about it on my own Rafelson thread months ago, but cannot find it.
It is worth a look, No Good Deed is interesting too
Joks you have to see his best movie Stay Hungry. Stay Hungry is without a doubt one of my favorite films
it has Jeff Bridges, Arnold the Governator,Joe Spinell,Sally Field, Scatman Crothers, and Robert England
Check IT OUT, I enjoy the Stay Hungry the most out of all his films and I have seen them all.
I gotta rewatch the king of marvin gardens
^^will do, thanks for the recommendation.
Well now there is BBS Lost and Found in America box sex that will be released in Nov by Criterion.
Stay Hungry is very good…and I really liked Blood & Wine…Jack Nicholson and Michael Caine were terrific.
Man Trouble…a disaster.
What about Black Widow with Theresa Russell and Debra Winger? GRRR. It was fun and you can’t beat the really quirky supporting cast of Sami Frey, Dennis Hopper, Nicol Williamson, Diane Ladd, etc.
Stop where you are.
Yeah, I agree with Matt. Five Easy Pieces and King Of Marvin Gardens are two brilliant gems of 70s cinema. Head is goofy fun and I like the Postman Always Rings Twice and Black Widow. The only other film I can recommend by him is Mountains of the Moon which is pretty good. The rest of his filmography is not really worth exploring. Yet I keep seeing his films hoping there might be a return to form. I even watched No Good Deed which was just atrocious.
Joks
ok ladies and gents, i need some advice. I’ve seen Five Easy Pieces, which i loved, King Of Marvin Gardens, which i liked, and Man Trouble and Blood and Wine, which i thought were pretty weak actually. What else is worth a look from Rafelson? I’ve seen bits of Postman Always Rings Twice, but never the whole thing.
