I have not seen any of the above films, but I can tell you that her roles were definitly influenced by her mother. Whether they were exploitive or not is up to one idea of nudity. Can nudity in some cases be tasteful and artistic showing that it is a fact of life? In some cases yes, such as the swim in Walkabout, but for a prostitute as in Pretty Baby, not so much. It sounds, to me that her mother was selling her out, putting her in roles that showcased her body as much as three times as you mention above.

to the point of the first post on this thread, an exhibit of nude photos (of her at 10 by a famous photographer) was just banned at an art exhibit.
She has a new film coming out (Furry Creatures) soon.

Brooke Shields played a child prostitute in Malle’s Pretty Baby and very convincingly; Jodie Foster did too in Taxi Driver but Shields was semi nude (at 12) and very sexualized.
After that film, Brooke did the Calvin Klien ads, nothing comes between me and my Calvins, and spent a few years representing teens on the verge of womenhood.
These were interesting films: Blue Lagoon and the underrated Endless Love and she was very good in them.
People said her mother/manager exploited her (did she have to be nude when George Burns found her in this trunk in Just You and Me Kid? prob not). And some of her movies are not available here today because of the nudity issue; it was an odd thing the way she was marketed. Any thoughts about Shields?
