Paul Thomas Anderson can DO ANYTHING! and to some degree has. In Magnolia there is a part where it breaks out into a song number “Save Me” theres no dancing but to be a cornball, he dance if he wants too!
Can Paul Thomas Anderson pull off a great musical film?
I don’t know but I would love to see him try! I don’t know much about musicals, but the ones I have seen have been very upbeat, something that PTA’s films are not. As much as I like the execution of “Save Me” in Magnolia I don’t think I could handle a feature length film with that kind of agonizing emotion. But hey.. he’s surprised me before, so there’s nothing to indicate he won’t surprise me again.
I’d rather see him do it than Rob Marshall.
He could def pull off a musical, he continues to show that he has incredible versatility. He’s a true student of cinema, he could do it! I really want The Master with PSH, to happen!
I want The Master to happen. Why cant one of these Hollywood actors fund the fucking thing, whatever happened to great producers?
