I will share some of my notes here from Cannes Film Festival.
So many things are happening. Where should I start?
Gems I found, films which hit me most, in Cannes so far:
“Waltz with Bashir” (an animated documentary in competition)
“Passionate Friends” screened as part of centenary celebration of David Lean (“Doktor Zhibako”)
“Ashes of Time Redux” by Wong Kar-wai (Wong and Tony Leong were there last night
and he asked to give 3 minute silence for earthquake in China)
“Ashes…” is a love message from Wong.
You can enjoy poetic moments and its incredible cinematography by Christopher Doyle.
“Memory is the root of man’s troubles.”
“If you cannot forget certain things, the solution is just not to forget.”
I will meet Jackie Chang and Jude Law later at parties…
