S: That clip from Visage (and I didn’t know what it was while I was watching it—that it’s Tsai is excellent and I should have guessed it!) has me moving it up to the top of the Q. Good idea for a thread, too.
Great idea Josh!
The night
As a pretentious Michael Mann nerd, the fourth clip is always what plays in my mind as I come home to an empty apartment during the week. It’s not on the ocean, I’m not a professional armed robber, but somehow it’s just perfect.

Hou: Can’t wait to see it myself, though I’ll have to see all his previous films first. Oh, the ‘agony’. ;)
Jack: Love the BT clip, another one I have to see soon.
This contains what I would consider a SPOILER so be warned. Here is an absolutely beautiful trailer for The Bird People in China.

I hope everyone watches this as it is the first time I have cut something out of a movie and uploaded something to youtube and it took me three hours to work it out!

How do you get it embbeded?
@Lachim was that the intro to Sans Soleil? Just click on the embed code under the clip and cut and paste it into your post – should work
@Megg: tried that, didn’t work…
@Megg: I got it. :)

I can’t believe I am making my own little videos… a new monster is unleashed.
All these clips are fantastic esp if one has not seen a lot of cinema, just to get a taste. Thanks Jack for reminding me how wonderful that scene is in Night of the Hunter.
This is my second effort and it took waaaay less time :) :) I had no clue what I was doing to start.

I think a similar thread like this was already created at some point, but I figured I’d start this one regardless.
In the same spirit as the Post a Song You’re Currently Listening To thread or the Notebook’s Video of the Day, I thought it would be interesting and fun for anyone who would like to, to embed various ‘cinema capsules’, for lack of a better term, that we come across. Maybe it’s from a favorite film or one you haven’t seen, the way someone says a phrase, a camera or body movement, maybe it’s ten minutes long or less than ten seconds. Something that feels like a synthesis of composition, light, action and, in most cases, sound.Rogue’s Gallery
