Celebrating the Female Presence on Mubi

I celebrate the female presence, period, not just at MUBI.

@ Blue K: “I celebrate the female presence, period, not just at MUBI.” awwwwwwwwwwww. And that’s why you’re the custodian of cinema. Such a nice man…this is bound to melt hearts from Toronto to Timbuktu. You’re the <3 man. And i’m not even a woman…so that says loads about you. brofist.

clearly no female MUBI member shares your sentiments, Chanandre. lol.

Females are so overrated, I give them 3 out of 5stars.

Just kidding, just kidding!! I love the females. They’re awesome. They make babies! Do y’all realize how amazing that is. To be able to make a baby!? Another human being!!! Wow… they blow my mind. Whats even more crazy is that they like men. They’re amazing strange creatures.

I love this thread and all the women of Mubi and beyond! And in the words of the late Beastie Boy:

“Let me tell ya somethin that’s long overdue:
This disrespectin women has got to be through.
To all the mothers and the sisters and the wives and friends,
I want to offer my love and respect to the end.”

I think the mistake we can make on any thread where we list certain names is that we are invariably going to leave off others. Some posters, male and female, have high profiles because they post here a lot and others not so because they either post infrequently or have stopped (for whatever reason). So, I can relate to BrotherDeacon’s concerns. Let’s just celebrate in general, eh?

But my question now is: Why won’t we ever see a thread here called: Celebrating the Male Presence on Mubi? Well, we already know the answer to that one. Heh!

How do we celebrate the Gay presence here on Mubi?

Voguing.

…And a parade.

srsly this thread should die, but since it’s still here i’d like to mention the first female i followed here, someone who has quietly gone about doing more for the database on classic hollywood than anyone else without doubt: thriftstore junkie. she was absent for awhile and i feared the worst but she’s back now =D

My first follower was a female, Abby. She was young, didn’t know any better.

Sorry for being a killjoy, I grabbed the wrong meds that morning. I love all you fuckers, top or bottom, front or back, twisted into pretzels with half a dozen parrots taking part. You’re all very great. And, yes, I am Sasha Grey—a sister/brotherdeacon.

Yeah obviously its nice to have a diversity of opinions. Im not on mubi all the time but females seem to get treated deferentially. It would be an improvement if males of mubi could see females as equals rather than potential life partners.

I think the problem is when they treat females as potential sex partners.

Are we in the epilogue now? lol

Don’t know if it’s already been suggested, but I think Ruby’s name should officially be changed to Rubi – because she prctically IS Mubi!

Very glad that we have women cinephiles in the world. And I agree wholeheartedly agree with Leaves, they are long overdue for their true respect in society and culture.

Why did that guy call me a woman?
