I don’t have a solution, but the same thing has been happening to me lately.
I’m having this problem all the time, and it’s a pain in the ass, to be sure. It’s something that needs a good fixing. Perhaps they could make directors and films “stuck” at the top of the search page, and have all other links be subsequent. :)

It must be a general glitch caused by the realignment of pages as mubi.com. I will send a mail to support, and hope they’re going to fix it soon.
Good to hear, Marc! :D Thanks a bunch!

Same here, but I kept working at it and eventually got the director’s page.
I’ve never really thought the search feature here worked particularly well, but it does seem to have been functioning differently of late.
THANK YOU, I was considering posting about this. It’s a real pain. Thanks for bringing it up and setting things in motion.

THE SAME THING HAPPENS TO ME AND ITS FREAKING ANNOYING
Yeah, the search is near useless at the moment
Mubi already answered my mail :

When I type a director or title of a movie into the in-site search field I no longer get the direct pages as any of my results. I don’t care about all the forums where people are talking about John Cassavetes. I want to go to his actual page. But I can’t seem to get to it.
The best I can get with some directors is their FANS OF… page, then, once there, I have to click the BACK TO… button to get to the director’s page. It’s like the interface issues on this site are getting worse and worse instead of better and better.
Is anyone else having this problem or have a solution?
