Children of Men. Best movie that came out that year.
LA CONFIDENTIAL should go first no doubt
Neither. Wait ‘til they’re both cheaper, or on a 2 for 1 sale, or some like situation, because that’s likely to happen in the near future wherein near future=next few months. After all, neither of them are the hot and new titles, and now that Blu-Ray is starting to take up significant shelf space, significant shelf space needs to get cleared for them, ergo sales occur.

Children of Men
I like the way you think Polarisdib. I didn’t care so much for Children of Men, didn’t hate it either, but I would go with LA Confidential myself.
But only after following Polarisdib’s advice.
Polarisdib: They are actually having a buy two get one free sale. But I have a coupon for 15% off one dvd. Do I use the coupon, or buy spend extra dough for the deal?
Neither. Buy The Bird with the Crystal Plummage on Blu-Ray instead.
Ok fine: I say Children of Men b/c of all the new bonus material not on the previous SD release.
If you buy two, get one free, then you are getting a 33% discount of all three. That’s better than 15%.
HOWEVER, the reason for those sales are simple: increase spending. If you’re buying three movies instead of just one, you will spend more than you would on just the one.
So what do you value? More movies, or your hard-earned cash? I for one work in a place that almost always has either Buy 1 get 1 for a dollar, or Buy 2 get 1 for a dollar (depending on the season). My employee discount on used is 20%. However, I tend to buy single titles on my discount instead of three on regular sale because I don’t have the money or the shelf-space to be buying three movies at a pop every time I want something. Since I work in a combined rental/sale store, I wait until clearance rentals get put on the shelf for $9.99, which means most movies I buy for $8, and only about one or two a week. I’m very frugal in my spending. If I had more disposable income, I’d rather buy three clearance rentals for $20.

I know, that’s the dilemma. That’s why I’m trying to narrow it done to one. I would of course pick up The Seventh Seal, but I have a suspicion that that title is a father’s day gift.
L.A. Confidential. Forget Children of Men – you can pull my finger.
My vote is for Children of Men.
Borders is doing 40% off one item.
I was looking at Barnes and Noble, but that might be a better deal, Thanks.
Children of Men.
Get both! Stimulate the economy! Stimulate the industry! Push those Blu-ray sales figures! (L.A. Confidential is a better movie, nice addition to the collection. Children of Men is good fun though, and a solid movie)
is this even a competition?
Children of Men
children of men and then buy L.A Confidential haha
Children of Men
“Get both! Stimulate the economy! Stimulate the industry! Push those Blu-ray sales figures!”
Hahaha! What’s funny is the times I actually find myself feeling that way.
“I know, that’s the dilemma.”
Exactly. Here’s what my grandmother always recommended:
“Flip a coin. If you find yourself disappointed by the coin flip, then choose the other one.”
Works every time.

I love them both, but I’m only buying one tonight. I’m having a hell of a time deciding. Which one should it be?
