Zzzz…
o come on now. it was anything about snooze worthy. it was electric.
I like the makeout session at the end of Cinema Paradiso. The whole movie is foreplay to the concept of cinema until that last moment where the director throws reserve to the wind and just starts slobbering all over cinema’s lips — using a montage of kisses from cinema history. It’s pretty great.

spiderman
greatest this, greatest that…
Don’t know about greatest ever, but this one is pretty good.
HOT.
Damn I don’t remember that from Cinema Paradiso at all. Need to re-watch ASAP.
Yes, the Spiderman kiss was good. But more so for its uniqueness than any emotional aspect.
Yeah I’ll admit I wouldn’t mind being kissed like that…. ;)
^ LOL
So women DO like it.
The kiss was OK, if not good, but the thought that it was the best ever never crossed my mind. But I’ll have to think of better ones. What about the kiss between Bogey and Bacall in To Have and To Have Not. I’m thinking of the scene where Bacall leaves the room saying. “You know how to whistle, don’t you, Steve? You just put your lips together and blow.” What makes the kiss so great, though, is the dialogue that precedes it. Smokin’! (I’m not convinced this is the best kisses of all time, though.)
when Rhett took command and really kissed Scarlett then carted up off up the stairs was pretty alright
Vivien Leigh’s eyes the next morning were masterful in conveying the impact the night had on her anyway:) – then of course, he comes in with his defenses up and it all goes bad.
Grace Kelly & James Stewart in REAR WINDOW
This one is the best
The best kiss of all time is the kind you get for real.
’Nuff said.
And I might say that while I was not crazy about Drive, one of the interesting things about the kiss in the elevator scene is that is was followed by horrific violence. There was an interesting moment right before the kiss where Gosling made a protective move with his arm around what’s her name (sorry it’s escaping me at the moment), and then went for the kiss like he’d never see her again. It was like an “the end of the story” kiss — he fulfilled a longing they both had, then went to hell in a handbasket.
And THAT is what makes that kiss so interesting and passionate to me.
As for Cinema Paradiso, I must say DiB that the movie made me downright nauseous and when all that kissing stuff happened at the end, if it weren’t for the fact that I was seeing it with my mother (who was in tears about how “romantic” it was), I would have left the theater right in the middle of that.
UGH.
I always found this one to be pretty good. Rita helps. (clip from Gilda)
I hate you too Johnny.
^ This.
It’s pretty powerful.
re: drive yes, he knew he wouldn’t get another chance. and, i hesitate to say it but…that scene in gwtw plays like a rape scene. he forcibly carries her up the stairs against her will, then the next morning she’s all smiles. it always cuts me wrong
gwtw? what is that?….
personally, i thought that kiss scene in drive was too ridiculous for me to take seriously. i was cracking up at that part. besides the horrible songs, that scene was one of the main reasons i disliked the movie.
gone with the wind
that is a good one soybean. it’s a thin line between love and hate lol
Ha — the lighting thing and slo-mo and music was corny. But man was his kissing convincing. I mean, forget about her, my eyes were riveted on HIM. :P
Ah, I haven’t seen that in ages, Ruby! All I remember is her huge dresses and the green drape dress. :D
lol i’ve seen it dozens of times
From Here to Eternity’s beach make-out always makes me laugh.
it’s the music! ^
Mogambo
The emotional roller coaster that is this scene is unsurpassed by any other.
Go ahead and find me a better kiss than this. The way he takes a hold of her, tilts her chin up and goes in, lighting, music, the pre-elevator scene and then the result, 10/10.
