You sound like you could be the third person to match my friends and mine $300-400 splurges during the infamous 50% off sale at B&N.
It took hold of me. Criterions are ridiculously priced. Lost a couple pay checks to all those films. I figure it’s at least a little cheaper than cocaine

They should put that on their website!
hah!
Love it.
I’ve had my friends tell me I have a problem though :/ But honestly … many of them own dozens of CDs. What’s the difference? Besides you can’t watch a movie while driving … safely.
You gave me a terrible idea… I’m going to buy a portable dvd player and attach it to my steering wheel. Oh well at least I can listen to commentaries on the road!! But if there’s a scene I like I might just kill some people…

Looking at the pile of movies I own I realize what has happened to me. After seeing films of Kurosawa’s I wanted to buy them badly. Then, once I bought it I felt the drug go into effect then I wanted more. Later that year the devil told me of the Barnes and Noble Criterion sale. I do not remember exactly what came over me but I recall walking away from the store with bags of films and movies. My job was a block away from Barnes and Noble so sometimes I would catch myself staring at the shelves for hours then wake from the trance. Finally, the sale ended only to start up again in November. Over the winter break I started going to the Half Price Books stores where one could buy Criterion’s for half the price and sometimes more! I would simply switch the case and it was over. But today I was at a Dollar Video Rental store and found myself almost on my knees pleading for Ran and another Criterion out of print. I paid him the money and left. Has anyone been in this situation? Do I need some kind of help?
