Check out the commentary on The Goonies DVD. It’s almost all of the cast in a big room together and you can actually watch them interact while the movie is playing picture in picture style. That being said, about half way through I get a bit John Landis and just want them to shut up so I can watch the movie.
Anything that has Kevin Smith on the commentary track is definitely worth the listen.

I think Alien had a good commentary track can’t really remember for sure though.
Thorsten, that seems like a potentially very useful site. Thanks!
@Thorsten – Fantastic! That’s a really useful site – thank you!
you’re welcome. I just fished the link out of the abyss of my bookmarks. I am not sure if the site is still being maintained as regularly as it used to be a few years ago when I discovered it. But it’s still a useful database.

these are usually ‘sole’ commentaries but anything by verhoven, herzog and oliver stone is worth a listen … ridley scott can be good for the technical info…

I was watching Last Temptation of The Christ yesterday and i decided to watch it with the commentary track on (which was a first for me) just because i was interested in what Scorsese and Schrader had to say but i noticed that their commentary was edited together so i was wondering are there any good commentary tracks (criterion or not) where there people doing the commentary are actually in the same room together? i would like to see how they all interact with each other when they’re talking about a certain film. Thanks.
