I’m sold on this trailer.
And I’m really amused and amazed at the casting of Joanne Whalley and Kilmer together again.
“the tentative films of a student struggling to find his voice and vision while The Conversation, One From the Heart, Apocalypse Now and the two Godfather movies would be the culmination of his mastery of cinema. "
wow, its not every day that you see One From The Heart listed with his best, so now i’m even more weary of this new film.
Many of the reviews severely undersell YOUTH WITHOUT YOUTH and TETRO, so I’ll have to make up my own mind on TWIXT.
It looks pretty interesting to me and I’m excited to see where the film itself goes. It’s great to see Coppola seeming to finally able to do what he’s always wanted, do smaller films that seem to tickle his fancy.
I’m on the “looks great” side. :)
Me too, can’t wait.
Yeah, this looks pretty cool.
It took me 14 years to come around to DRACULA and append my 13 year old reaction of “That looks soooo fake” with the clause “…and awesome.” The more bonkers this is, the better. Fingers crossed.
I’m ‘in’ too, but only because it’s Coppola. It looks ugly imo, and i thought Youth Without Youth was pretentious crap.
Tetro was good though. but not great.
Resurrecting this thread. I wonder what people think of Twixt? Also, I was pretty surprised to see it make #3 on the Cahiers du Cinema list. Don’t know if this has been covered elsewhere on Mubi, but why so high for a film that seems like it’s been done hundreds of times before?
tl;dr: if you liked Twixt, what stuck out to you?
does this even have a release date yet? Heard nothing since about this since TIFF 2011!!!
