If you’re interested in French New Wave I would suggest any film by Jean-Luc Goddard most specifically Pierrot Le Fou, Alphaville, Breathless (from the collection), My Life To Live, Weekend, Hail Mary (which are not on the collection).
Any of the early stuff from Clade Chabrol which of couse, there are no titles in the criterion collection.
Six Moral Tales by Eric Rohmer
And if your interested in new wave movements from other countries try Closely Watched Trains, Loves of a Blonde, Billy Liar.
If like the Beatles I consider their film A Hard Days Night to be a part of the British New Wave
As for other films in the collection, check out:
Andrei Rublev – Tarkovsky
Solaris – Tarkovsky
Murmer of The Heart or any of the Louis Malle films
Seven Samurai – Kurosawa
The Bad Sleep Well – Kurosawa
The Virgin Spring – Bergman
Spirit of the Beehive – Eurice
Those are just some of my personal favorites. Depending on what your taste is you might not like them. You can’t really go wrong with a lot of the titles in the collection, but then again some of them aren’t that great.
Breathless and Andrei Rublev, I am definetly asking for both of those, and maybe Solaris.
The Mizoguchi Eclipse set
8 1/2
Essential Art House Wild Strawberries
Ivan’s Childhood
Along with a lot of non-CC dvds like the MoC Sunrise and a Raul Ruiz boxset
Aside from 8 1/2, Breathless, Andrei Rublev and Solaris, which have already been mentioned, I’d suggest Akira Kurosawa. From him, Seven Samurai, Rashomon and Ran.
My suggestions for French New Wave related films would be “Masculin féminin” #308 (imo, it was OK), and “Elevator to the Gallows” #335 (which is very good, highly recommended).
Since you listed “I Vitteloni,” you may want to browse the catalog entry for “Il Posto” #194 as well, to see if it interests you. I own “Il Posto,” but haven’t watched it yet.
DVDs I Will Be Receiving For Christmas:
L’avventura
101 Dalmatians
Elevator to the Gallows
Umberto D
WALL-E
I have a very unsurprising Christmas with my family, but it will be great nonetheless.

OK so I want to ask for several Criterion DVDs for Christmas as I am farely new to Criterion. Ill list some movies I already own from Criterion and if I could get some suggestions for things I should ask for that would be great:
Days of Heaven

This Sporting Life
George Washington
